Inter alia, the Resolution states the following: "due to the results of parliamentary hearings "On Conditions, Actions and Prospects of Overcoming Chornobyl Disaster Aftermath", held on 16 April 2008, The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declares that comprehensive means aimed at elimination of Chornobyl disaster aftermath have been taken for 22 years since the disaster".
The Resolution draws attention to a number of social and economic issues caused by Chornobyl disaster aftermath that are to be settled.
The Resolution commissions the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to establish a central executive body in charge of overcoming Chornobyl disaster aftermath under the procedure defined by the Constitution of Ukraine. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is also to secure functioning of the State Register of persons who suffered in the result of Chornobyl disaster.
